Valenciennes will be the scene of a new event called the e.virtuoses, the conference of Serious Games producers!

You’ve had enough of the never-ending role play training games…

You believe that too much money is being spent by your business or your local authority on massive simulation systems, with uncertain results.

You are curious about Second Life but you don’t know what to do about it.
en faire.

You’ve noticed, maybe with concern that children and teenagers prefer spending more time in the virtual world of video games.

You think that being a part of the world of today and tomorrow, means using social networking on the web.

And like us, you can see peering over the horizon new interfaces for work, communication, business, training and sharing, in 3D, in real time and networking on a massive scale, on your telephones, at the heart of your computer’s operating system and especially on the web.

You are maybe, without knowing it, in front of one of the profound changes that are being made by digital content technologies for several decade now: welcome to the new world
of Serious Games!

Anticipating the growth in Europe of Serious Games, Valenciennes has built up a determined and concerted policy with all the players of the Nord-Pas de Calais region for the development of the Serious Games sector.

Its main objective: the region is to be the leading area for the sector in Europe. Businesses and projects on Serious Games start up, set up in Valenciennes and in the region, skilled jobs are created, a new economy is deployed. For this to happen, the CCIV is putting into place several foundation stones:

• The e.virtuoses : Valenciennes creates the first conference for Serious Games producers and at the special concert hall “Le Nouveau Siècle” in Lille on 26th November, invites Serious Games professionals to meet up with the decision-makers from big companies and the public authorities of the Nord-Pas de Calais, France and Europe. The objective: During conferences and workshops, discover, learn, meet and initiate major projects for Serious Games.

• The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Valenciennes strives to set up an industrial centre dedicated to Serious Games. It will welcome businesses, developers, creators, divisions and departments from dedicated large groups under optimal conditions. There are plans for the creation of a European Institute for Serious Games, that would be at the same time bringing projects into being, facilitating industry and an observatory for the sector,
